What a great afternoon the U13 girls had!

We were first into bat and were shocked at the high standard of fielding on display.  But gradually our confidence was restored with the fantastic hits of Olivia, Jamie and Molly, not to mention the half rounders piling on from the rest of the team.  Our score of 8 seemed amazing considering the incredible fielding and bowling.

Enter team one who had some great hits, but with our disciplined fielding only 7 rounders were scored.  With the score just 8 - 7 to us we had to put on a real display of our best batting and we did!  Olivia, Leona, Abi and Molly scored some fantastic whole rounders and almost everyone else scored at least one half rounder.  We now had a great total of 18.  But would that be enough?

Enter team two who were the best fielders and looked like they would be the best batters too.  What they hadn't counted on was our determination to win.

With Molly's great bowling and Hattie's alert backstopping they couldn't get going.  We were catching them out like flies.  Jessica had a great catch close to second base and Jamie had an unforgettable catch in the deep, hit at full tilt.  Maria, Sophie and Abi made some wonderful throws to second and fourth bases and India and Leona stumped out several girls on first.

So, all in all, a truly spectacular performance by all the team.  A very big well done!
