FINAL ROUNDERS MATCH OF THE SEASON - YARLET VICTORY 23 - 14
A sunny, sultry day and the U13s were tense and excited about the prospect of another tough match and their last match of the season. Yarlet's nerves soon disappeared once the first innings got underway. Our usual fantastic fielding, with a great catch from Sophie, javelin throws to 4th from Jamie and Hattie covering 3rd and 4th bases, kept the Denstone score to just five rounders. Once our batters were unleashed there was an incredible hitting spree with whole rounders from Jamie, Hattie, Jess and Sophie, not to mention all the half rounders from the rest of the team, giving us a total of 12 rounders. Denstone's second innings was a lot better and now we had a real contest. We needn't have worried, though, as we were soon sending the ball flying all over the field into the bush, down the slope and even onto the cricket field, courtesy of another powerful shot from the unbelievable Sophie Ward! Yes, the girls had another resounding win which completed an undefeated season. This is now the U13s third successive season without conceding a match. Many congratulations to this harmonious team. |
