Form 3 Trip to Chester November 2009 |

 Form Three visited the Grosvenor Museum as Chester to find out more about the Romans.  We were met by Gaius Feronius, an optio of the XX legion. He took us for a tour around the fort, showing us a hypocaust and demonstrating how Roman baths and toilets worked. We wore armour to march in and we shouted 'sin, sin, sin dec sin' as we marched. After a look at some Roman gravestones, we had lunch and then we had a busy afternoon full of different activities. We had to be slaves, builders, archaeologists and mosaic makers. To finish the day, Oscar even had to dress up as a Roman legionary. |
