Form Three visited the Grosvenor Museum as Chester to find out more about the Romans.Form_3_trip_to_Chester_1

We were met by Gaius Feronius, an optio of the XX legion.  He took us for a tour around the fort, showing us a hypocaust and demonstrating how Roman baths and toilets worked.  We wore armour to march in and we shouted 'sin, sin, sin dec sin' as we marched.

After a look at some Roman gravestones, we had lunch and then we had a busy afternoon full of different activities.  We had to be slaves, builders, archaeologists and mosaic makers.  To finish the day, Oscar even had to dress up as a Roman legionary.
