Form 2 Visit to Weaver Hall, Northwich |

|
On Friday November 18th Form 2 went on a visit to Weaver Hall in Northwich. We went to meet Samuel Pepys and his maid Jane. The children were taken back hundreds of years to London on the morning of the Great Fire. Samuel Pepys told them all about the fire. The children dressed up as a Londoner and had to make a bucket line to try and put out the fire. They pretended to try and save all their belongings and learnt how people often buried their precious things. They went into Mr Pepys house and met his maid Jane who got them cleaning and brushing the floor. She had them selling things in a London street and lots more. They made things too, a lavender posy to keep the plague away and a fire plate put on houses after the fire. The children had a fun and interactive day exploring various artefacts and learning much about life in those days.
